Does your kid hate to wear a hat? Once the weather turns cold, there’s no debating it in my house. After learning how much body heat escapes from an uncovered head during the winter months, I laid down the law on that one. While finding an appropriate hat for my kids used to be fun (bunny ears, anyone?), it’s now turned into just another battle of wills. Well we may just have solved this year’s  problem, thanks to an ultra-cool style that even the hippest kid can’t deny. Bling 2 o’s Snow BL-ing Hat takes your basic ski hat and steps it up a notch with embroidered goggles adorned with rhinestones. It completes the effortless, pulled-together look for your favorite ski bunny. So whether she’s [&hellip

The weekend is upon us, and that means I’ll have more time to read uninterrupted…as if! With a break from the frenetic routine of getting kids off to school, shuttling them to activities, tackling homework, dinner, bath and bed, I make a point of squeezing in some reading before heading off to Dreamland. Because I’m already a full-time bespectacled gal, I don’t need to seek out a pair of reading glasses. But since plenty of friends have been donning a pair during book group, I know that stylish specs are just as important as a fetching pair of shoes (or so I’ve been told). If you’re someone who likes to make more environmentally-friendly purchases, then we’ve found the glasses line for you. Eynack‘s line of [&hellip

From what I’ve been hearing from my mom friends, it won’t be long before my 9-year-old is begging for a sleepover party. We’ve managed to successfully avoid this topic, and frankly, I’m just not ready for all the drama that comes along with it. While I don’t miss those long-ago 3 a.m. feedings, I sometimes can’t help long for the sight of that sweet little soul, so peaceful as she lay fast asleep in her crib back in the day. When the weather had turned chilly, Iwrapped her up in her comfy blankie and she was set for the night…until, of course,  she kicked off her covers and cried out for someone to come and comfort her. Because I didn’t trust myself to swaddle my [&hellip

When my younger daughter was in diapers, my legs got quite a workout. I was forever forgetting to bring an extra pack of diapers downstairs, and so made many a mad dash up to her room to grab a fresh diaper, wipes and other necessities. When I finally got my act together, I put together a small wicker basket filled with supplies. As tasteful as it was, this basket wasn’t entirely practical. I sometimes tripped over it when it was in the middle of the floor, and it never looked right in the middle of the dining room table. Now, if the Windel had been around when I was a new mom, my home might have looked a lot less cluttered, and I might not [&hellip

Today was my birthday (my 29th, of course), and yes, even Mama Walnut was treated to a day that was all her own. After an afternoon at the beach with a good book in hand, my family treated me to a homemade red velvet birthday cake, an unexpected delight. But perhaps one of the greatest surprises was from my 9-year-old daughter who decided to wear a dress in my honor. And not just any dress, mind you. One that would be the envy of any fashion-conscious tween, or so I told her. You see this is one girl who does not enjoy skirts, dresses, frilly blouses or anything remotely feminine. While she’s not exactly a tomboy, this gal just doesn’t care for clothes. Some might [&hellip

The woman who runs a local cafe gave birth to her second son this past spring. Not one to let motherhood slow her down, she had soon returned to work and, much to my surprise, with her newborn in tow. Straight from the kitchen with a smile on her face, she emerged with her baby boy swaddled in a sling as she set food down in front of waiting diners. As I waited for my order, we chatted about how difficult it is, going from one to two, and I left impressed by how well she seemed to be managing. I also couldn’t help but notice the latest baby gear trend–the baby wrap–being put to good use. It’s a great way to keep a newborn [&hellip
