The open road is calling your name. Maybe it’s because it’s finally Friday, the weather is good and you’re itching to get out of town. Or maybe it’s just easier said than done; you still have family commitments and a list of errands a mile long. If that’s the case, it never hurts to live vicariously and that’s what we’re doing, thanks to a globe-trotting little girl. Lately Lily is a fresh new face in the world of kids’ entertainment–and a refreshing one at that. This is not a girl who dwells in the virtual world, but who joins her jet-setting parents on their various travels and records her observations about these adventures. Aside from  a doll in her likeness made by MerryMakers, Lately Lily [&hellip

Ah, the 1980s…the big hair, the acid-washed jeans, the legwarmers. If you grew up in this era, you’ll recall these signs of the time fondly…or wonder why the fashion police weren’t out to get you. I remember trying to make like Jennifer Beals and “flash-dancing” my beloved sweatshirt by chopping off the sleeves. Funny that I never looked as cool as she did (sigh…). One 80s trend that’s making a comeback is Bo-Po nail polish from Worx Toys. Maybe you tried it out at a friend’s sleepover or coveted a bottle of your own? It’s that Brush On, Peel Off (hence the name) polish that made application and removal a snap. Now it’s back for a new generation of mini make-up mavens, and with a [&hellip

As soon as spring break rolls around and my kids have been home bothering…ahem, spending time with me for a whole week, it makes me  realize that summer vacation is not too far away. I feel like we’ve gotten a bit of a jump-start on getting our summer gear, thanks to off-season swimming lessons, but still haven’t found a decent bag for toting all my kindergartner’s stuff…until now. PaddlePak is a water-resistant backpack for ages 2 and up that’s both pretty and practical. You can stash a wet suit or towel without worrying about ruining the fabric. A special roll-top seal keeps everything safe and secure, while the Trunki grip keeps sunglasses or water goggles within easy reach. Our favorite “de-tail” is the tail that [&hellip

Do you know a kid who’s bogged down by their bag? I see it nearly every day when kindergartners can barely manage to traverse the steep step up on the bus, thanks to a bulky backpack. It’s even more heartbreaking when it’s a preschooler who seems to be toting enough luggage for an overnight flight than a half day at school. And a lunch bag to the mix, and you’ve got a date with the chiropractor in your kid’s near future. Maybe that’s why we like SuperMe! bags so much. It’s perfect for the pint-sized Superman-in-the-making who can’t quite part with this special powers when headed off to school or daycare. You can choose between the Cape Backpack, a sturdy model that converts into a [&hellip

I never dreamed that my kindergartener would visit a spa before I did, but lo and behold, hell hath frozen over. She has since attended two beauty-themed birthday parties–all at the ripe old age of 5–and seems to have had her fill (for the time being, at least). But one take-away that never seems to get old is the experience of having her nails “done.” While she loves the glittery glow and the endless array of rainbow hues in which to adorn her digits, she admits that the stinky chemical smell is something she can live without (you and me both, kid). Because yours truly only breaks out the polish for her own twice-yearly at-home mani/pedi (if you call air-drying on the back deck a [&hellip

Valentine’s Day is almost here; did you stock up on a candy and flowers yet? Sure, it’s a day to show your family how much you love them, and that doesn’t just mean heart-shaped pancakes for the kiddies. (Don’t forget how they got here in the first place!). If you want to remember your favorite guy or gal this Friday, you can bring out their inner geek with some fun novelty items brought to you by Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Comics. Give his old sweatpants a much-needed break with a pair of DC Comics Batman Men’s PJ Pants. Hip enough to wear in the man cave. Of course, you’ll eventually want to lure him away from the Xbox, and what better way to [&hellip

Every year for Valentine’s Day, my dad bought me a heart-shaped box of chocolates. While my candy box only held 3 or 4 candy treats, I savored each one as though it was a precious gem…and couldn’t wait for the day I would graduate to the deluxe-sized box that my mom received. We were never too big on jewelry (too flashy) or flowers (they look pretty, but don’t last very long) in our house, so candy was king. As I got older, I noticed how many girls favored charm bracelets, diamond studs other jewelry, but that just wasn’t me. To this day, aside from my engagement ring and a special sapphire pendant, I haven’t accrued any, shall we say, safety deposit box-worthy possessions. Because I [&hellip

We’re starting to understand what it feels like to be a bear. With 10 inches of fresh snow on the ground and two more storms on the horizon (and that’s just this week), we’re inclined to pack it in and not come back out until spring. But of course, that would mean missing way too much: the Olympics, Valentine’s Day, the Oscars…the list goes on. Instead of hiding out, maybe we can act like a bear and play dress-up in a new  collection too cute to keep to ourselves. Introducing Paddington Bear for babyGap, a limited-edition clothing line for baby boys and girls (up to 24 months) inspired by the storybook bear himself. From a sweet toggle rain parka, to a soft hoodie complete with [&hellip

Anyone with a new baby knows all too well how many diaper changes they go through in one day. And when you’re in a frazzled, sleep-deprived state of mind, trying to close up a squirming baby’s pajamas at 3 a.m. can be a little daunting. Ollie and Bess two snap crawlers aims to simplify the diaper changing experience. These sleepers are designed with just two snaps–strategically placed in the back–so your little one is ready to go…hopefully, back to sleep. Your first thought might be like ours: only two snaps must mean gaping holes. And yet, that’s not the case; these crawlers provide ample coverage without a tight-fitting feel. Made from 100-percent pima cotton, these one-piece outfits are soft and snuggly, and come in a [&hellip
