If you’ve got a teenage boy in your life, chances are he knows Shaun White by name. The uber-cool snowboarder/skateboarder/Olympic gold medalist has taken his fancy footwear and applied it to an apparel line that fittingly now includes flip flops. The Shaun White collection embodies the spirit of this sportsman with sleek lines, bold graphics and style that any boy would be willing to sport himself. Just in time for warmer weather are flip flops that make a statement without calling too much attention to their owner (you know how sensitive cool guys can be). Paired with a hoodie sweatshirt, graphic tee and cargo shorts (all part of the new collection), your guy is bound to catch some serious attention, wherever he roams. In a [&hellip

It’s too soon to start planning for Kate Middleton’s baby shower–her wedding day isn’t even here just yet–but it’s certainly fun to imagine her as mum-to-be some day. No doubt her baby’s nursery will be outfitted in royal finery, and her bundle of joy clothed in the lushest, most soft fabrics. But something tells me that when it’s time to step out with the future prince (or princess), the future Queen of England will be doing so in style. If we could be so bold as to suggest a couple of our favorite baby products, we’d put these on her baby shower wish list. To help navigate those London city streets with a little one, the Cybex Callisto is the way to go. This highly [&hellip

A mom friend once posed the following question: “Is it awful if I answer my husband honestly about what I’d like best for Mother’s Day: to be left alone?” Ava Gardner she was not, nor am I that friend. But truth be told, it is nice to escape the mom label every now and then, be it in May or any other day for that matter. If you think you’ve come too close to adapting the full mommyhood routine, take a closer look at that bag you’re carrying. Is it loaded down with diapers, wipes, Goldfish and every other imaginable kid-friendly contraption? Be honest. If you could use something that’s a bit more you–or perhaps the “you” before there were babies in the picture–consider the [&hellip

When my brother was a boy, my mother was lucky if she could wrangle him into a suit for his First Communion, let alone for any other special occasion. He’s now all grown up with a teenage son of his own, and finds that it’s not much easier trying to convince him to dress up, not down. Because we learn early on that clothes do indeed make the man, finding fashionable finery that doesn’t require moms to make harsh demands (no Xbox or Facebook for one week) doesn’t have to be a losing battle. Appaman Fine Tailoring seeks to please both parent and son with its ultra sleek suit collection for young gentlemen. The collection’s euro slim Mod Suit earns points for its sophisticated lines [&hellip

Back strain can bring you down–literally and figuratively. Every spring, I make a point of cleaning out my purse to minimize the droop in my already-slouched shoulders. That’s what years of schlepping around a textbook-laden backpack will to do you. And those diaper bag years haven’t exactly helped matters either. To make whatever bag you’re lugging around town a little less cumbersome, Go GaGa’s Urban Sherpa Strap may just be your new best friend. Even if you don’t want to part with your favorite diaper bag, purse or laptop case, you can still use it by updating it with a strap that evenly distributes the bulk across your back and shoulders. Just remove the current strap and clip the Urban Sherpa one onto the metal [&hellip

When my daughter was born, a friend and colleague sent me a memorable gift: a painting of a clothes line featuring little girls’ dresses with my daughter’s name inscribed below. Packaged in a cellophane gift bag and tied with a bow that matched the gingham check in one of the dresses, this gift was more than just personable. It demonstrated creativity and forethought…something that I wish I had more of as a mom. I know that when I’m giving a special gift to a friend, I want her to know–just by looking at it–that I put thought into my selection. So when I come across a baby gift line that features high-end materials and matching accessories, it earns points in my book. New to this [&hellip

Why is it that when I do the laundry sometimes, I wind up getting in a tizzy over my daughter’s underwear? Maybe I’m just having a bad day, but I can’t believe how we can’t quite escape skimpy scivvies emblazoned with various TV characters. And don’t even get me started about their too-snug fit; I fear for the day her jeans appear painted on, but can’t she stay young just a little bit longer? Wash after wash, these undies quickly begin to fray and lose their elasticity so often that I am forever replacing them. Maybe that’s why investing in better quality undergarments makes more sense to me than ever, and why we’ve got our eye (and our bums) on Underdoodles. Made from organic cotton, [&hellip

The birds are chirping and daffodil stems are pushing their way up through the muddy soil. Yup, it’s spring and we’re noticing our own signs of warmer weather, particularly in kids’ shoes. Mary Janes are back, but with a updated, fresh style that has celebrity kids like Suri Cruise (shown here) and Valentina Hayek sporting their own pair. If these Hollywood starlets are looking for some other suggestions, we’d got a couple. Venettini has a new line of classic Mary Janes that are real head-turners. We love the polished look that tops off any outfit, just in time for Easter Sunday dresses. On a more playful note, we’re also excited about a new collection from pediped that lets kids be…well, kids. The Adventure Line is [&hellip

This winter being one of the colder ones in recent memory, I am insistent upon keeping my kids’ heads covered. That means hats for all, whether they like it or not: at the bus stop, on neighborhood walks, treks to the supermarket…you name it, you’ll see my family wearing the warmest head gear I can find. And if you’re like me and don’t have a family member who knits, handmade hats (made by someone else, of course) are the next best thing. Hats off to Beanie Designs for its extensive collection of hand-crocheted hats. Whether you are looking for a whimsical new baby gift (check out the organic cupcake hat) or a stylish hat for your fashionable 4-year-old (see the beanie visor with flower), there’s [&hellip

Check any girls’ clothes wish list (is there such a thing?) for spring, and you’ll find a tunic layered over leggings. Call it a chip off the old block–after all, it’s become one of the mommy staple outfits for several seasons now–but it appears to be one look that girls and their moms can agree on without launching World War III. One cute tunic/leggings combo that caught our eye is from the new Oshkosh B’gosh Basics line. It’s playful yet practical, and goes from classroom to playground without a hitch. The rest of the line includes polos, tees and skorts in everyday colors and stripes guaranteed to please even the most temperamental fashionista. We can appreciate that the entire Basics collection won’t break the bank [&hellip
