• Spring has finally sprung, and that can only mean one thing. No, not your allergies. We’re talkin’ bikes. If you have a toddler with an older sibling, you know how much your little one wants to be just like her big brother or sister. In our house, my little one tells me, “I’m not your baby anymore; I’m a big girl.” (Don’t worry about hurt feelings; I’ve developed a thick skin by now.) But I digress…when we dusted off our two-wheelers this weekend, wouldn’t you know the little one wanted to ride her bike, too? Because it’s no shocker that kids seem to be growing up faster these days, we think the Smart-Trike will truly hit its stride with precocious preschoolers everywhere. This versatile ride-on, which comes in various animal-themed motifs, converts from a makeshift stroller to a tricycle as your child develops. Beginning as young as 10 months, kids can ride along as you steer with the parent-sized handle. A high-back seat and footrest make for a smooth ride, while cushioned arm rests and an overhead canopy ensure that it’s comfortable, too. As your child matures and her riding skills improve, simply remove the parent handle, adjust the seat and switch to pedals. Before you know it, she’ll be bounding down the street, itching for a big kid bike like her sister’s. After all, you can only hold them back for so long (sigh…)

In a Nutshell: When the birds are singing and the sun is shining, it’s a beautiful day for a bike ride. Bring your little one along for the ride and see if she can’t keep up with her brother or sister on the Smart-Trike.
