Springtime is less than two weeks away, with the baseball season immediately on its heels. If your little slugger is chomping at the bit for Opening Day, there’s no time like the present to grab his glove and ball and head outside. Or better yet, give him a chance to perfect his catching skills with a cool new Japanese-inspired toy. Otherwise known as the traditional cup-and-ball game here in the States, Yomega’s Kendama helps kids fine-tune their hand/eye coordination as they expertly toss a tethered hard-plastic ball onto the cupped surfaces of a hammer-like handle. We got our hands on an early product sample of this product,  and let’s just say that this game is not as easy as it looks. With just the right [&hellip

My 8-year-old has been taking swimming lessons this winter, and we’re hoping she’ll be able to doggy paddle by summer. One of the things about learning to swim that troubles her is going underwater. I too remember being a bit scared of that unknown (would a fish try to bite me?), but once I got past it, it was one of my favorite parts of being in the water. Well, even if your kid isn’t fearful of diving right in, but just wants to look cool when she’s 20,000 leagues under the sea, you’ll want to check out this summer’s coolest fashion accessory. Bling2O are not your average swimming goggles; these babies are spiced up with a little bit o’ bling to make your favorite [&hellip

Like me, my girls are developing a love for all things Japanese (food, culture, and of course, everyone’s favorite Hello Kitty). Unlike me, my girls do not–and I repeat, do not–play with dolls. Never had, and looking like they never will. (It breaks my own mother’s heart, but that’s a whole other story…) Because there never was a “Barbie stage” in our house, I don’t have to worry about “de-pinking” my house anytime soon. But just because my daughters are not into dressing up their playthings and sending them off to the spa in a sporty coupe, it doesn’t mean they can’t experience living in another place and all the excitement that comes along with that fantasy. For the anti-fashion-doll audience comes Kimmidoll Junior, a [&hellip

Enough of Old Man Winter! In our house, we’re ready for spring and lucky for us, Easter Sunday comes early this year. Because we’re big on decorating for any and all holidays, we’re always on the lookout for festive stuff that can double as playtime fun. Like good little bunnies, we’ve been hunting all over for something that can keep the kids entertained, from the little ones to the ones who are, shall we say, more “discriminating?”  Well, we think we’ve found it: one of our favorites this Easter is Hallmark’s Squawkin’ Egg Droppin’ Egg. Following the Hallmark tradition of musical plush that wiggle, giggle and shake to danceable tunes, this hen is ready to shake herself (and your kids) silly. My girls had a [&hellip

My 4-year-old has a definite sweet tooth, and her latest sugary obsession is Pez (remember those candies that come in their own dispenser?). Because she covets her Hello Kitty Pez like it’s gold, she has a hard time sharing with her big sis (who also loves Pez, but not nearly as much). During a recent battle at the dinner table, my little one reluctantly agreed to give her sister some of her treats…but the biggest surprise came the following day when her sister graciously brought home some leftover coloring sheets for her art class. As my girls have come to learn, a kind gesture like sharing something with others–especially something you love–doesn’t go unnoticed and sometimes yields its own reward. This is the perfect lesson [&hellip
