Now that I’ve managed to clear out my Christmas CDs from my cluttered car, it’s the perfect time to update my traveling music collection, and that includes kid-friendly selections. Lucky for me, Caspar Babypants (Chris Ballew from The Presidents of the United States of America’s alter ego) is dropping a new kiddie CD in the nick of time. Filled with plenty of original tracks, along with some updated classics like “Twinkle Twinkle” and “Row Row Row Your Boat,” this release packs 19 rockin’ tracks that won’t have you reaching for the fast-forward button. The title track sets the tone for an upbeat mood, while “Baby of Mine” is a gentler lullaby-esque number. Our personal favorite is “Yes and No,” the cleverly written antidote to all [&hellip

Just last week, we celebrated the New Year by purging our bookshelves. “Out with the old, and in with the new,” as they say. My 8-year-old was happy to make room on her shelves for some new Dork Diaries by passing picture books on to her younger sister. And for my 4-year-old, that meant departing with some baby board books in order to accommodate the hand-me-downs. I admit that I hate to give up any books, much less ones that I’ve read over and over to my girls until I could recite them in my sleep (and some nights, I think I’ve done just that). For any parent of a baby/toddler looking for a new title to commit to memory–something that may be a step [&hellip

I “heart” Strawberry Shortcake. That’s what I would have said about 30-someodd years ago when talking about my favorite doll. I’ll admit it: I wasn’t captivated by her adorable frock or her gaggle of fruity friends. For this little girl, it was the scented hair that really won me over, and this fascination kept me playing with dolls for longer than a girl would back in the day. As I got older, my thrill for scented things didn’t let up. When I “discovered” fruit-scented shampoos like Suave, my nose was in pure heaven and my luxurious mane just got a little more stylish–or as much as you could expect at age 13. Today’s girls who recognize the intoxicating power of scrumptiously-smelling hair will fall over [&hellip

My niece has a foot fetish. Well, maybe not exactly, but she does love her shoes and is often “borrowing” what she doesn’t have from her sister and mom.  Taking a cue from “The Carrie Diaries,” perhaps, or maybe just being a typical teen? Whatever her rationale, her penchant for posh footwear doesn’t come cheap, so it’s not easy to build a wardrobe when you’re on a budget. Fashionistas in the know have that problem solved, thanks to a line of footwear accessories that give new life to tired tootsies. Hugrz boot wrappers are the hip, new way to update your winter shoes without having to invest in multiple purchase. (Who can afford more than one pair of UGGS, anyhow?) Not matter your mood, there’s [&hellip

New year, new you. It’s a catchphrase that’s trumpeted from many a magazine cover, urging us to turn over a new leaf, wipe the slate clean and start all over again. For those of you still recovering from the year that was, it’s hard enough making a New Year’s resolution without feeling guilty about not fulfilling the one left over from 2012! To assuage your guilt over not losing those 10 lbs., how about concentrating instead on dressing better or–better yet–stepping up your kid’s wardrobe without blowing your budget? With this in mind, we’re loving the line of vintage baby and toddler tees from Ba Ba Bling Baby. One sweet shirt is all you need to put a smile on your kid’s face, not to [&hellip
