Both my girls have super-sensitive ears. The entire first year of kindergarten, my now-8-year-old would cover her ears until her school bus came to a complete stop (the brakes bothered her). My 4-year-old is not as sensitive, but she doesn’t particularly enjoy seeing movies in a theater (can’t say I blame her in that department, but for different reasons). While a mom friend once suggested trying ear muffs, I never wound up following her advice. But as time passed and I figured there might be other kids experiencing the same heightened sense of hearing as my kids,  I wasn’t surprised to learn about the invention of Baby Banz Earmuffs. These fashionable ear guards are specifically designed to protect babies/little kids from loud noises. (Because young [&hellip

When someone you know announces her pregnancy, it’s amazing how infectious that happiness can be. It seems like the whole world smiles at an expectant mom’s baby bump, sharing in her joyfulness at the prospect of a new life coming into the world. No one ever likes to associate an impending birth with anything negative, but the truth is life isn’t always perfect. Pregnant women, especially those with a preexisting medical condition, need to take extra care of themselves during those precious nine months. It’s why we’re recognizing the m*a*m*a necklace, a  jewelry line designed with expectant mothers in mind. The oval pendant subtly shares the important information of your condition in the event of an accident or medical emergency. The stainless-steel design features a [&hellip

When my now 8-year-old was a toddler and we went out to eat, I always kept my bag stashed with crayons, coloring books and the requisite bag of Goldfish (in times of desperation, I’d break out the snacks before the art supplies, rebel that I was). When a colleague sent me a pack of tear-off, stick-on activity place mats, I went through them almost as fast as a bag of Goldfish! I always meant to order more of them, but never got around to stocking up. Wouldn’t a reusable mat work wonders for the time-crunched parent, the one who only realized she’d forgotten the Crayolas and paper after leaving home? (Yup, I admit to that being me on at least a few occasions…) Enter Jaq [&hellip

My 8-year-old has suddenly become a fan of wearing extra-long T-shirts. It all started this past summer when she took an acting workshop, and some of the older, middle school-aged girls came to class with shirts one size too big. But rather than wear them loose, they wore their shirts knotted in the back for a more fashionable, fitted look. I’m hardly one to encourage following the fold, but at least this particular look kept the kids from looking unkempt. Although practical, the unadorned look still seemed to be lacking something…and that’s when we stumbled upon TagTailz. Designed to give some personality to your ensemble, these fashion accessories let girls celebrate their sense of style while achieving a pulled-together look. (Any mom contending with a [&hellip

A girlfriend of mine regretted never getting baby announcements made up for her son, but it was completely understandable. She had a toddler to care for, along with a newborn, and she could barely manage a daily shower, let alone correspondence. When her life calmed down and she settled into a new routine many months later, my pal decided to turn her annual Christmas card into an official welcoming for her family’s newest addition. For those new parents looking to commemorate their baby’s arrival–even if it has been a few months or more–the pressure is off. You can give yourselves a one-year grace period and instead create a personalized keepsake that celebrates the first 365 days of their little one’s young lives. My First Year [&hellip
